The author has conducted a lot of comparative
studies on the economic and political performance of many countries, and
he has found that 4Capital rather than one
capital determines national performance.
Along this line, we have developed indicators to
rank all countries per their spiritual capital.
In September of 2009, France announced its plan to
include happiness and well-being in its measurements of economic
progress. It shows that more and more scholars and decision-makers
have recognized the problems of focusing on materialism.
