From Research Methods to Holistic and Responsible AI
GrmdsAI's research journey began in 2000 under the RM Institute, with a focus on research methods, quantitative analysis, data-driven decision making, and the practical application of emerging computational technologies.
Over the years, this work expanded from advanced statistical methods and causal analysis into data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and broader questions about how intelligent systems can create reliable and positive real-world impact. GrmdsAI continues this research tradition today through interdisciplinary research and practical innovation.
Current Research & Innovation
Our current work focuses on four connected areas that move from better computation and causal reasoning to responsible intelligence and meaningful applications.
Holistic Computation is GrmdsAI's integrative framework for moving beyond isolated models toward dependable decision systems. It brings together modern statistics and AI, causal reasoning, ecosystem thinking, multidimensional value, and the 4E workflow of Equation, Estimation, Evaluation, and Execution.
The goal is to help research and AI address complex real-world problems more completely, transparently, and responsibly.
Operational Causal AI extends causal inference from identifying and estimating causal relationships to building causal systems that can work reliably in real decision environments.
The research emphasizes four requirements for operational validity: correctness, interpretability, actionability, and semantic grounding. It is designed for applications where causal conclusions must be understandable, defensible, and useful in practice, including healthcare, law, policy, and organizational decision making.
ASI explores dimensions of intelligence that conventional AI evaluation often overlooks: purpose, values, ethics, empathy, trust, social responsibility, wisdom, and long-term human impact.
This research asks how increasingly capable AI systems can become not only more intelligent, but also more responsible, trustworthy, and aligned with the broader interests of people and society.
HMIP is a practical research and innovation platform that applies AI and Holistic Computation to personal archives and memoir development. It helps organize fragmented memories, documents, photos, videos, and historical context into coherent and meaningful knowledge.
HMIP demonstrates how GrmdsAI research can move from methodology into human-centered applications with personal, family, historical, and societal value.
